Nadia Comaneci - (born on 12 November 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti, Romania), Romanian gymnast. The first person in history to earn a 10. an Olympic competition. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics coach who became Comaneci's coach in later years found her around the age of six. At first, she competed in the national junior championships in Romania in 1969, she was 13th. In 1970, she the Romanian gymnast won. Her first competition in the international arena was in 1972 a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974 she was all-around junior champion. She won four gold and one silver medals in her debut competition as a senior that took place in 1975. It was the first time she had competed as an adult. She was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and became the first woman to ever dismount parallel bars with backwards double salto. When she was a teen she began her career in the entertainment industry as a performer as a figure skater. Together with her younger brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business as a teenager. She began her professional career by performing figure skating alongside Nina Wayne, her younger sister as part of traveling entertainment show Ice Capades. The shows featured the ice skating of which was accompanied by theatrical music.
